Tell us a bit of background about how you came to be with B&M

I am currently working at B&M on a year's placement as part of my degree with Nottingham Trent University studying Interior Design and Architecture.

Why did you decide to study Interior Design and Architecture?

I've always had a passion for anything creative and from a young age I really enjoyed being involved in interior design, so when it came to choosing a course at University it was a clear winner for me.

I love looking at a space and creating something that is both unique in design but also the most efficient use of the area. The course I'm doing allows me to do just that, and I really enjoy it.

What first attracted you to B&M?

When I was looking for a placement, I knew I wanted somewhere that offered a high quality of service and design and a variety of projects. I'd seen examples of their work and had been impressed by their style and types of jobs they had been involved in.

I also wanted to learn as much as I could about every aspect of a project and industry, and B&M provide a full range of services for their clients, so I knew I'd get the best quality of experience from them.

What has been your most interesting project so far?

I really enjoyed working on the new vegan restaurant for the University of Nottingham. It's the first time I'd been involved in anything like that, and it was a new avenue for the University so it was really interesting. It was great being able to put my creative stamp on such a unique project.

I am also currently involved in a redesign project of offices in Edwinstowe. The brief was to transform a building used for offices into something bespoke and unique whilst still keeping the design true to the location and the Property style. I really enjoyed this project, and can't wait to see the finished item.

What are your future goals once you've graduated from University?

I would love to return to B&M once I have graduated and continue my career with them, my time here has been really enjoyable. I've been welcomed as a member of the team and I feel part of the family now. I'm also excited for the projects we have coming in the future and definitely want to be part of B&M going forward.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

When I'm not working or studying for my degree I do enjoy going to music festivals. Music is a real passion of mine, I've always got music playing in my office. I try to get to as many as possible once festival season starts.
